Our Philosphy
We believe all children have the right to safe and nurturing experiences in child care and early education. These experiences increase children’s feelings of security which then open them up to: engagement with carefully planned curriculum, passionate and knowledgeable teaching staff, their peers and the world around them.
We believe that children construct their own knowledge. Children are able to do so by engaging in a curriculum centering around their interests, abilities and nature. Thus, we use the constructivist approach to develop hands-on activities and experiences that follow children’s interests and allow them to experiment and explore settings enriched by teachers.
We believe that loving and passionate early childhood teachers are the key to ensuring children and families are and feel included as well as valued and accepted within the program. Teachers use a Reggio inspired approach to building community with participating families. Additionally, we place a value on primary caregiving and continuity of care. This means that while children are in a classroom with a group of teachers, each child is assigned one teacher that takes on a primary responsibility for the child. When children mature and are ready to move onto the next classrooms, primary caregivers move on with them.
We hold a strong belief that childhood is a special and sensitive time of life. The Amado EEE is committed to the work of ensuring young children’s rights.
